School Plan

At Mt. Lehman Elementary, our continuing goal for the 2017/2018 school year is to improve overall student literacy, and more specifically, student performance in Writing.  Our data was collected from 2013 to 2017, and subsequent assessment of student literacy (oral reading, fluency, comprehension, writing conventions, writing style) indicated the area needing greatest improvement was writing style. Our school growth plan includes New curriculum initiatives which include Aboriginal content and context.

Recognizing that building successful students and citizenship is a global responsibility, a second goal has been added to our School Growth Plan to develop character education with our students, highlighting citizenship and community service. A copy of the 40 Developmental Assets for Elementary School students is attached; our job is to make sure they have as many of these assets as possible!

The Mt. Lehman School Growth Plan includes connections to the School District Strategic Plan, the Elementary Operational Plan and connections to the Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement. The data collected for assessment includes FSA results, school & district write results, PM Reading benchmark scores, and report card assessments.
