Principal's Message - October
Wow! Here we are in the middle of October! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend. We have settled into classes and routines, while at the same time breaking routines to practice emergency drills, take part in Terry Fox Day, acknowledge our first ever National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and cheering on the runners of our cross-country meets. Teachers have worked together this past Professional Development Day to learn about the history of Indigenous communities in our local area, and ways we can bring this learning to our classrooms. It has been an amazing few weeks. We have Parent Teacher Interviews this week, another Pro-D Day of learning for teachers this Friday October 21st. At the end of the month, we have Halloween to look forward to.
Thank you so much for all your support! Remember, you can get involved with school events by joining our PAC for their monthly meetings, or by reaching out to your child's teacher about volunteer opportunities in the classroom.
A principal's message wouldn't be complete without a reminder to please avoid parking in the fire lane before the bus arrives.
