The Abbotsford Board of Education is currently seeking feedback from parents/guardians, families, employees, students and the larger community on the proposed calendar for the 2023-24 school year.

This past December, the Indigenous Education Advisory Committee reviewed applications submitted by several grade 12 Indigenous students from secondary schools throughout the Abbotsford School District.

Today, Abbotsford School District's Superintendent, Dr. Kevin Godden, announced his intent to retire at the end of the 2022/23 school year to all staff in the district via email. He had discussed this decision with the Abbotsford Board of Education earlier in the school year.

Schools across the Abbotsford School District recognized the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year as part of the lunisolar calendar. Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other East and Southeast Asian communities in Canada and worldwide were celebrating the beginning of the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Rabbit (or Cat in Vietnamese culture) which was officially recognized on January 22nd, 2023.

Robert Bateman Timberwolves – AA Varsity Provincial Champions

Students from Robert Bateman Secondary’s Boys Football Team share with the Board their exciting season after winning the AA provincial title early in December 2022.

Dear Abbotsford School District families,

With winter break on the horizon, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, and families for a successful start to the 2022/23 school year. Reflecting on the past four months, I feel incredibly fortunate to serve as Superintendent of this great learning community. As we've eased into a new normal, the excitement and buzz within our schools has been constant. Students have been re-immersed into various activities, sports, music, arts and extracurricular initiatives that spark joy and support innovative learning opportunities.
