School Bus Information - Registration 2024-25 school year

 

School Bus online registration for the 2024-25 school year will open on May 6th and registration will run until August 1st.  From August 2 to September 30, we will be building routes and adjusting runs, as a result bus registration will be closed during that time and will re-open October 1st.  All students need to be registered for busing annually.

Please note, any families that have outstanding bus fees owing, your child’s bus registration will NOT be approved.

How to Register

Families can register their child online by visiting: https://www.abbyschools.ca/student-transportation.  On this Transportation web page you will see the button in blue “Register NOW”. You will require the students Pupil number to complete this online form, if you do not have it, you can reach out to your child’s school to retrieve it.  Also, it is very important that you accurately mark the students busing “DATE TO BEGIN RIDING” as September 3, 2024 (1st day of school).

Transportation will be provided to in catchment students who reside outside the policy walk limits and may be provided to students in approved District Programs, where busing is currently offered. If you are not sure of walk limits to your catchment school, please visit: www.abbyschools.ca/schools/catchments

Bus routes and stops will not be changed or adjusted once they have been established. By submitting an online registration, you are initiating a contract with the Abbotsford School District effective with the commencement of the school year. Families are advised to register as quickly as possible to reserve a seat on a bus.

Current School Bus Fees

  1. Students bused to in catchment schools and who live inside walk limit: $465 per student per year or $690 per family per year.
  2. Students attending district programs and cross boundary students: $690 per student per year or $930 per family per year.
  3. Students living outside the walk limits of their catchment school: no fees.

Families will be able to pay transportation fees online, at the end of August. If you have not already done so, you may register for online payments through your school website or at abbotsford.schoolcashonline.com. All discussions regarding busing fees should be directed to the Abbotsford School District's Finance Department at 604-859-4891 or by email finance@abbyschools.ca.

Cancellation

Once registered, if you change your mind and do not require busing, you must cancel your service via email to school.bus@abbyschools.ca. Please note that fees will be charged (if applicable) until the Transportation Department receives a cancellation notice in the form of an email.

All transportation contracts terminate at the end of June and do not carry forward to the next school year.
